Hello everyone! First, I would like to thank you all for following us on social media and for those of you who are new to us, a warm welcome to you! Perhaps you’ve already read about my partner, Shannon, in “Shannon, What the Heck Are You Doing?” Now, let me share a bit about my own journey and what I’m currently involved in.
Over the years, friends and family have often asked me, “So, what are you up to now?” The truth is, I have a variety of interests. Throughout my life, I’ve delved into careers and passions spanning from accounting, real estate, staging, to feng shui and interior design. I even found time to pursue sewing while raising a family. After years of assisting friends and family in selling their homes and contributing to their decorating endeavors, I’ve made the bold decision to embark on a new chapter. This year, my journey led me to co-found a design firm with my dear friend Shannon—Hive Interior Studio, LLC.
How did I get here? The speedy version of the story is, I started out my journey in an office, progressing from an entry-level position to eventually becoming an office manager and full-charge bookkeeper. Following a hiatus to start a family, I returned to the workforce as the senior administrator for a real estate office. It was there that my interest in real estate flourished, prompting me to obtain my real estate license and enroll in the Fairfield University Interior Design Program.
And then came Shannon’s proposal to start our own design firm. A dream career! Without hesitation, we embarked on this exciting venture. While Shannon boasts an extensive background in interior design and I bring staging, real estate, and bookkeeping expertise to the table, our shared passion for design, continuous learning, and exploring the design world unites us. We’ve already completed several projects and eagerly anticipate what 2024 holds. Additionally, we’ve launched a blog, curated by Shannon, showcasing her exceptional writing skills—an art I’m learning to appreciate.
That’s what I am up to now and I am grateful and fortunate to be where I am. I hope to see you in the design world.
